These investors are in luck, as there are plenty of options when it comes to finding the right brokerage with which to invest, as there is no shortage of options. That being said, this massive amount of options can also be overwhelming, as it can be difficult to find the right exchange in which to invest.
Fortunately, we're here to help. Here's a review of one of the many potential options when it comes to your precious metal investments: Cornerstone Asset Metals.
About Cornerstone
Cornerstone has an extensive "About Us" page that does a nice job of laying out who they are and what they do. Cornerstone advertises itself as a "wealth management & retirement advisory" business.
As such, they seek to differentiate themselves from the usual metal exchange services that most people run into when checking out places to buy precious metals.
Cornerstone is run by Terry Sacka, AAMS. It is noteworthy that the company lists multiple interviews that Sacka has given, as well as his educational credentials, which clearly demonstrate his qualifications.
This should enhance the comfort that many investors have when considering doing business with Cornerstone.
Total Messaging
The messaging and orientation of the Cornerstone Wealth Management site are worth commenting on, as it contains an array of materials that may attract or repel certain customers.
Cornerstone's website has an entire section on Media. While one of the pages does contain recent interviews given by SEO Terry Sacka, it also contains a variety of other material. This includes:
"Rigged [Against You]: This page leads to Cornerstone's podcasts. The content of this podcast leans heavily into the idea that the American financial system is collapsing - content includes episodes on the collapse of the banking system, the rise of a global currency, the "7th Stage of America's Collapse," "Are you ready for the truth...for 2030?" and the like.
In other words, Cornerstone's investment philosophy seems geared around the idea that the United States is collapsing, and only people who invest in precious metals can survive.
"End Times & Our Financial System Documentary": This is listed as a "Red Bill/Blue Pill" documentary designed to discuss the "One World Financial Order." It is noteworthy that the language used here - Red Pill/Blue Pill - leans heavily into the Qanon conspiracy theory.
From a conspiracy theory perspective, this isn't all: The page goes in-depth into a variety of conspiracy theories, giving "evidence" that supports the idea that pandemics are man-made and 5G cell towers are not what they seem.
There is also a section on their website that offers "Cornerstone Crowns," which is religiously-oriented silver coins, complete with the note that these coins are "First Amendment, "Freedom of religion" protected coin."
There are, of course, many religious coins out there, but the added note about how these coins are protected by the First Amendment - combined with the use of a Bible quote in the marketing of the coin (Revelation 3:18) is not something that you usually find on a professional metal exchange, and this content may seem out of place to some.
What does this mean? Ultimately, that's up to you to decide. If you find your beliefs oriented around this type of thinking, Cornerstone may be the perfect firm for you.
However, many individuals find this type of content and conspiracy thinking off-putting and credibility-defeating. As such, you should consider that Cornerstone leans heavily into this type of philosophy before investing any of your money.
Services Provided
Cornerstone provides an array of services, including:
As you can see, these services are a little different than the normal ones that you may find with a standard precious metal exchange.
Cornerstone leans heavily into wealth management and financial advisory services, something that most precious metal exchanges don't actually do. The company encourages users to make precious metal purchases via their retirement account systems.
More hidden away is the ability to open Private Vault Storage and order precious metals for your own collection. You can then have these precious metals shipped to your private vault or sent to your house.
However, what isn't listed on the website is what kind of precious metals you can order. This makes it difficult to evaluate the inventory that Cornerstone offers its customers.
In addition to helping you to fund an IRA or 401k with precious metals, Cornerstone Metals provides wealth advisors that allow you to speak with a wealth professional and get in-depth guidance about how to best fund your retirement.
Their website identifies multiple specialists, including staff, who can provide general client support or assist with a 401k rollover.
Website Design
Cornerstone has put a great deal of time and effort into its website design. The site is crisp, has a clean and easy design, and makes it easy to find items. It is clearly updated regularly and has easy-to-operate options. It is also easy to access and operate on a mobile device.
Resources Available
Most precious metal websites provide extensive resources to their clients. These resources are geared towards not only recruiting new clients but making existing ones more comfortable with the prospect of buying gold or silver. A quick look at Cornerstone's website reveals an extensive and impressive array of resources. This includes:
A variety of specific articles on retirement and funding your 401k, including topics such as "Can I retire on $1 million."
Information on how to invest.
Charts that show the price history of gold and silver.
A FAQs page that lists answers to a variety of commonly asked questions and contains links to information on a variety of retirement topics, including IRAs, precious metals, how to invest, and more.
Advantages
There is no question that Cornerstone offers numerous benefits to its customers. Their website is sleek and professional.
It contains a slew of useful information and makes it easy for clients to enroll. There are a variety of ways that you can connect with a representative from the company, making it easy for you to get your questions answered and find out additional information.
Furthermore, the company offers specific retirement advisors, ensuring that individuals who are interested in opening a retirement account have an opportunity to speak with a professional and find out more information.
Last, it's worth noting that the array of resources on the Cornerstone website is extensive and actually far more extensive than most.
Cornerstone goes out of the way to give you as much information as possible, ensuring that prospective buyers have all the information they need at their fingertips. There is no question that the average Cornerstone customer is going to be more informed than most.
Disadvantages
The biggest problem with Cornerstone is a lack of clarity on the services they offer. Yes, they offer retirement services. They also mention being able to buy gold and silver for private storage...yet, they fail to list information on what precious metals you can buy.
There is no product selection screen on their website, save for the religiously oriented "Cornerstone Crowns." This can make fully comparing their website to other services difficult. Perhaps this information is gated behind the client portal, but that's unknown.
Many prospective buyers will also be put off by the heavy emphasis on Armageddon, religion, and conspiracy theories that is replete on this website. Many precious metal companies are very politically-dry, noting the genuine financial benefits of an investment in precious metals.
Others mention the need to buy it for safety purposes. Cornerstone leans more heavily into this area than any other website we've ever seen, going as far as to embrace the widely discredited Q-anon theory. Even the most hardcore of conspiracy theorists may pause at some of the content on this website.
Other Reviews
Under normal circumstances, most precious metal vendors will have extensive reviews. Indeed, many of the companies we have discussed have extensive reviews on a variety of websites, including Google, Yelp, Trustpilot, and the Better Business Bureau.
However, after an extensive review of the internet, we were stumped: We could not find a single review for Cornerstone Asset Metals, located in Montana.
What does this mean? Tough to say. It may be simply a marketing oversight by the team at Cornerstone: After all, most businesses go out of their way to ask satisfied customers to leave positive reviews on other websites. The fact that we couldn't find any information - even as a Google business - is certainly head-scratching.
It is worth noting that Cornerstone does have a variety of 5-star reviews on its website, listed as "Testimonials." However, as always, you should look at these testimonials with a grain of salt, as there is no way to verify their accuracy.
Fees & Storage
Unlike many other precious metal marketers, Cornerstone explicitly lists their prices (when possible) and explains their rationale.
They note the various factors that can influence the price of precious metals while also explaining where on their website you can get the most up-to-date information on their prices.
They also explain the difference between spot and bid price, as well as the premium they charge over the spot price. Finally, the website does lay out the explicit shipping costs that they charge while also providing information on the insurance they provide on their products.
All of this is to say that Cornerstone does an excellent job of explaining its pricing structure and making buyers more comfortable with the purchases that they are making.
Final Verdict
Cornerstone seems to care about its customers and is highly transparent. They are clear in their retirement services and the benefits of investing in precious metals.
However, the lack of transparency and the confusion about what gold or silver you can buy with them is genuinely puzzling. It's not for lack of technical acumen, as they have an excellent and easy-to-navigate website.
It simply appears as if the company doesn't have the right content on its website. Furthermore, the emphasis on conspiracy theories, the end of the world, and religious imagery will unquestionably put off many prospective buyers who simply want to diversify their retirement savings by investing in precious metals.
Can you do business with Cornerstone? Absolutely, and you may be happy doing so. However, the lack of clarity about their services, the conspiratorial imagery, and the lack of third-party reviews have convinced us that your precious funds are probably better invested elsewhere. There are simply too many unanswered questions about Cornerstone to justify the risk.
