About International Precious Metals
One of our great frustrations is when a precious metal company fails to list basic information about who they are, where they are, and what their competitive advantage is. Fortunately, that's not the case for International Precious Metals.
A robust "About Us" page lays out who they are and why you should do business with them. The company is located in Texas and has an array of coins and precious metals available.
They list their advantages as being able to provide you with a broad array of services, having low-pressure sales, and world-class customer service.
The only thing missing from this section is additional information about their sales team and qualifications, but comparatively speaking, this is a relatively minor complaint. Generally speaking, this About Us page does an excellent job of laying out the services provided by the site.
International Precious Metals has an array of impressive services that can be used by individuals who are looking to get involved in the precious metal market.
First, like many precious metal vendors, International Precious Metals offers you the chance to invest in a precious metal IRA. The website does a good job of laying out the process of opening a precious metal IRA, explaining the potential advantages, and describing the process by which individuals can open the IRA.
It also creates a solid foundation for expectations, noting that there are limits to what can be purchased and invested in an IRA. Fortunately, you can open your IRA with International Precious Metals in multiple ways, including by calling a toll-free number or by filling out an online form.
This online form is particularly important: We have seen far too many websites that require individuals to call a phone number, delaying the process.
However, individuals who are interested in buying precious metals don't have to have an IRA. International Precious Metals has a massive inventory of coins, bars, and bullion - indeed, it's one of the larger inventories we've seen available on the internet.
This includes gold, silver, platinum, palladium, and more. The coin selection is also particularly large: There are a slew of ancient, modern coins, heirlooms, and more.
Clicking on a coin reveals additional information about that coin, including a description and historical background. Most coins can be purchased online and have a price listed, but there are a few listed as "Call for price," and it's unclear why this is the case. Interestingly, the website also has a "notify me when price drops" option.
This option allows users to find out when the price of a targeted coin drops by a certain amount. This dynamic pricing - combined with notification options - creates an interesting dynamic for users who want to get involved in precious metal investing but also want to monitor how much they spend.
Finally, International Precious Metals also offers a buy-back program. According to the website, International Precious Metals will buy back any item that they sell at the listed "buyback price." While it would be nice if they bought other precious metal investments, this buyback option does allow users to be more flexible with their investments.
Fortunately, users who are interested in learning more about the services provided by International Precious Metals have many options. Individuals can navigate over to the "Contact Us" page, which has an array of ways to connect with the company.
This includes phone, email, or by filling out a digital form. Furthermore, there is a chatbot that may provide you with live answers, provided that a customer service representative is available on the other end of the digital line. Regardless, there's no question that customers can connect with the company in a variety of ways.
Like most websites in this area, International Precious Metals provides at least a few resources that are meant to keep their buyers informed and educated. International Precious Metals does a decent job here.
First and foremost, they have a section called "Buyer's Resources." This section has numerous articles that are meant to better inform precious metals buyers about what they can buy.
Examples include articles on how to diversify, how to get started with precious metals, and how to purchase rare coins to grow your family's wealth.
These articles are like expanded blog entries, and they do a great job of better explaining potential strategies and basic terminology.
Next, there is a market watch section of the website. There's not much to this: It is a very basic chart that has a bit of information on the price movement of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium. When we say "a bit," we mean a bit.
It just shows the 24-hour price of all of these precious metals - nothing more. This is a very basic function, and it's disappointing to see an otherwise robust website get one of the basics so wrong.
International Precious Metals also has a blog. Again, unfortunately, this blog leaves much to be desired. The entry topics are fine: They deal with guides to investing in specific precious metals or how to hedge against inflation.
The problem is the frequency of blog entries: It isn't very good. Entries come in 1-2 months. We're writing this article in late May, and the most recent article was on April 10. Thus far, there have only been four entries this month. There isn't much point in operating a blog if you are going to update it so infrequently.
Finally, there is an impressive FAQ section on this website. This answers basic questions, provides general information, and is geared towards answering specific issues that pop up in the course of shopping, specifically on the International Precious Metals website. It deals with general information, shipping and delivery, and how to place orders and make returns.
We'd be remiss if we didn't spend a few extra sentences on the inventory of International Precious Metals. Simply put, it's among the most robust inventories we've ever seen. It is dynamic, easy to navigate, and has a variety of online options. As such, you can use this inventory and International Precious Metals' website to find a vast array of coins, bullion, and bars.
The wide array of services offered by International Precious Metals is also highly favorable, as you can use this website for one-stop shopping. It offers enough to ensure that all of your precious metal needs can be covered.
The website is extremely easy to navigate. In addition to the wide array of services, there are a series of customizability options, including price drop notifications and filters that help you find exactly what you are looking for.
The resources on the website - by and large - are relatively strong. The information is factual, presented without political input (not always the case on these websites), and meant to inform buyers.
They do a good of objectively describing the benefits of precious metals while also answering specific questions about the website. These resources also enhance the overall transparency of the website and can help make users more comfortable.
The disadvantages of this website are few and far between, and that is obviously a good thing! The problems that exist are relatively minor: Certain resources, like the market watch chart and blog, are a bit thin. They would absolutely benefit from being filled out more.
Customer reviews are extremely important to any website, as the information filled out by previous customers can give users a much, much better idea of how well a company performs. We actually struggled to find reviews for their services, which is surprising, given how robust the website and marketing seemed to be. That being said, what we found was positive.
On Google, the company had an average of 4.9 out of 5 stars, with 27 reviews being placed. Reviews specifically cited the kindness, courtesy, and knowledge base of the staff. They also mentioned a very pleasant shopping experience, with multiple customers actually saying that online shopping and chatting with customer service was also positive.
The company also had an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and is listed as BBB accredited. While there were no reviews for the company, there were also no complaints - something that is relatively rare within this industry.
International Precious Metals seems to have almost everything you could want when it comes to investing in precious metals: A fantastic website, a wide and varied inventory, positive customer service, and in-depth reviews.
While there are a few smaller problems that we took issue with - namely, the comprehensiveness of certain resources - on the whole, we think what International Precious Metals has to offer is acceptable.
You can review the website for how they may be able to help you achieve your investing goals, but we think there are much better precious metals companies to work with.
