However, the sheer amount of these investments can be somewhat problematic and confusing. With so many options out there, how can you be sure what's the best investment to make?

We're here to try to help you by giving you the information you need on these websites. One such example is LCR Coin, a precious metal vendor that offers a vast array of products but mainly concentrates its efforts on coins.

About LCR Coin

LCR Coin has been active in the precious metal area for more than 35 years, and they use this experience to benefit their customers, providing you with a wide array of coins that you can buy.

The company does have more services than just coins - more on that shortly - but it's clear that coins are where their real passion and expertise lie.

The About Me page of their website doesn't list who operates the company or what their qualifications are. This is minor, but it's still good information to have.

However, the page does list their values, privacy protections, refund policies, shipping costs, and more. This goes a long way toward ensuring that you have the information you need to make a purchase.

It is very noteworthy that LCR coin has an entirely separate page dedicated to explaining its shipping and return policies. Coins can be shipped free with an order of $99 or more, something that is not offered by every coin or precious metal website that we have reviewed.

Furthermore, LCR coins clearly explain, in great detail, when a coin can be returned and how the process is managed. This speaks well of the company's transparency.

Also interesting: LCR coins accept payments in a variety of cryptocurrencies. This is in addition to accepting payment via a wide array of other methods, including eCheck, Credit Cards, PayPal, and many more.

Products & Services Sold By LCR Coin

It's in the company name: LCR Coin is clearly a company that sells coins. When it comes to coins, it gets better: The company has a massive array of coins you can buy.

The website lists hundreds of coins that you can buy there, breaking down the coins into multiple categories, including Certified Rare Coins and pre-1933 U.S.

Gold Coins. Clicking on the individual page of a coin reveals a vast array of information, including what the coin is, what certificate comes with it, specific details, and acceptable payment methods.

You can then add the item to an online shopping cart and check out off of the website - something that isn't available on all websites.

Simply put, the coin inventory is monstrously large and one of the biggest that we have ever seen when it comes to coins.

That being said, coins are not the only precious metals you can buy off of the website. There are also clear categories for silver, gold, platinum, and palladium.

You can buy customer bars and other forms of this bullion, and again, the website makes it easy by listing a vast array of relevant information about the products you may want to buy.

If you have precious metals and are interested in selling them, LCR Coins may be able to help. They list a three-step process that allows you to explore selling your coins. According to their website, all you have to do is:

  • Send a list of coins, including all pertinent information about the coins.
  • Ship the company the inventory.
  • Make a spot offer.
  • This process is simple and makes it as easy as possible for an individual to potentially sell their coins.

LCR Coins also offers a nice array of shipping and storage options. You can have your precious metals stored in a variety of facilities that are located across the country and, indeed, the world.

This flexibility may be ideal for domestic or foreign customers who want to collect precious metals and have access to those metals but work with a dependable, third-party storage facility.

Finally, LCR Coins also offers you the chance to buy IRA-approved precious metals. You can open an IRA directly from the website and begin to buy gold that goes directly into your IRA.

Interestingly enough, the website offers a "gold IRA" but also sells other precious metals, like silver, that are IRS approved. This is somewhat confusing, as it's unclear if the website offers other precious metal IRAs.

Resources

Any website that is going to try to sell you precious metals should also be offering a vast array of free resources that make this process as easy as possible.

Fortunately, LCR Coins does just that, and you can use their website to do more research into precious metal investments and determine if this type of investment is right for you.

The resources LCR Coins offers include - but are not limited to - the following:

Specific recommendations about types of coins you can buy, with an emphasis on Harrigal Signed Coins. This can seem more like a marketing piece than anything else, but it is certainly good information to have and understand.

A variety of pages lay out the basics of gold, including a glossary of terms and a page on the history of gold. All of this can create an excellent background of understanding, particularly for new investors.

Information on how to determine the price of your gold.

A variety of guides and information pieces on gold and other coins.

A blog on their services. However, some cautions must be mentioned in this blog. Yes, it contains information, but there there are three pieces written this week, and the most recent piece beyond that was from late December. Before that? Mid-November.

As such, this blog doesn't seem to be consistently updated, though recent entries may indicate that the company is attempting to turn a new leaf when it comes to its blog.

Live pricing charts.

Specific information on what a precious metal IRA is and how it can be opened. This information discusses the benefits of such an IRA and encourages people to buy through LCR coins, but the information listed is accurate and does a good job of explaining the potential complications of opening a precious metal IRA.

It notes that LCR Coins can help individuals open their IRA and that the company is compliant with all necessary IRS regulations.

It is worth noting that much of the content of this website does veer into some of the "buy gold to prevent financial apocalypse!" marketing. It's not as if the company is screaming that you should buy gold for the collapse of civilization, but it is noteworthy.

If this is a perspective that appeals to you, some of the information - like how massive financial bubbles will drive up the price of gold - may make sense. If you are interested in collecting or making sound, diverse financial investments, this information may be more problematic.

Communicating with the Company

LCR Coins gets high marks for its willingness and ability to communicate with its customers. The website repeatedly references the multiple ways that you can do so, either by calling a number or sending an email to an address.

Indeed, this information is listed repeatedly, and it seems clear that the company genuinely wants to hear from you if you need to speak with someone who works there.

Opening An Account

LCR Coins has done a good job of making it easy to open an account and communicate with the agency.

Creating an account and starting the process of buying or selling gold can be done via email or by calling the company's toll-free number. Alternatively, you can fill out an online form and create an account.

Other Reviews

As you would imagine for a company of this size, LCR Coins has an extensive array of reviews on a variety of coin and business sites. Sample review scores include:

  • Google Business: 4.8 out of 5 stars, 159 reviews
  • Trustpilot: 4.6 out of 5 stars, 107 reviews
  • Shopper Approved: 4.9 out of 5 stars, 3,740 reviews
  • BBB: No accreditation, no reviews, A rating

As you can see, the reviews of LCR Coins are overwhelmingly positive. Drilling into the specific comments of each section reveals an array of positive feedback, including:

  • Fair and competitive pricing
  • Honest quality assessments
  • Highly attentive customer service
  • Ability to manage and correct any mistakes that naturally occur within the course of doing business
  • Massively impressive selection of coins

There were negative reviews, of course. In multiple instances, customers claimed to have placed an order but had difficulty getting the order. The company often responded to these reviews and offered to look deeper into the situation.

These things will happen to any business, and the vast majority of reviews came from satisfied customers who said they were willing to do business with LCR coins again.

It is also worth noting that LCR Review proudly shows off its accreditation and membership with no less than eight coin agencies. This is meant to show that this is a serious company that cares about its professional reputation and credentials.

Our Rating

Advantages & Disadvantages

  • Advantages

Even a quick look at the website makes it clear that LCR Coins knows what they are doing and are a highly reputable vendor in this space.

First and foremost: The inventory of coins is massive. If you have any interest in buying coins, including rare coins, you can likely find what you are looking for here.

The inventory of other forms of bullion is not quite as large, but it's still impressive enough that it should give individuals an opportunity to find a solid array of potential precious metals.

Next, the company communicates costs, fees, shipping information, and more. They provide multiple ways for individuals to communicate with the company, and this should give individuals a degree of comfort in making such a massive investment with them.

The company also does an excellent job of providing resources to potential buyers. This means you can rely on LCR Coins to make an informed purchase.

The customer experience with LCR coins was almost universally positive. People believed them to be honest brokers who sold them high-quality coins at reasonable prices.a

The uniformity across multiple review sites was striking, as was the company's ability to respond to negative reviews and attempt to rectify any situation that they could. They are a customer-service-oriented organization that wants to make its customers happy.

  • Disadvantages

While we're largely impressed with what LCR Coins has to offer, there are some major concerns on the website that seems worth monitoring.

A strange disadvantage is the sheer size of the website. LCR Coins has a massive array of coins, and they try to display the information on those coins by creating a new page for each coin.

This creates some awkward formatting, and it can be difficult to use the website to get the content that you need.

Indeed, the design of the website, in general, is somewhat problematic. It's very busy and can create some confusion in terms of what content they are trying to prioritize for you.

There are also sliding ads and inconsistent formatting, which can make it difficult to scan content and find what you are looking for.

You also get the impression that the website is a little confused about what they sell. They consistently talk about buying and selling gold - but not other products - even though they advertise other products on their website.

This can leave users scratching their heads about the importance of other precious metals, like silver, platinum, and palladium.

Final Verdict

LCR coins offer one of the most impressive inventories of coins that we've reviewed so far, particularly in terms of rare or pre-1933 coins. If you are interested in investing in coins, you will be very happy with LCR coins.

The company also has other offerings, including purchasing different types of metals and opening an IRA, but this focus seems secondary compared to their sales of precious metal coins to customers. If this is an area of interest to you, you'd be hard-pressed to find a company that will do a better job at selling you coins than LCR coins.
